We have built our reputation through seamless integration of payment terminals and POS systems and are continuing to innovate in creating a terminal and acquirer independent payment solicitor for in‑store. Our clients include major banks and retailers such as Woolworths, David Jones, JB Hi‑Fi, and Bunnings. Our goal is to continuously lead the payments industry with new technology delivering value to clients, which who include merchants, banks, acquirers and POS vendors, expanding our presence into other regions. Job Summary The Financial Controller partners with senior leadership to deliver financial insights and strategic support across the business. They lead a team of two to oversee month‑end close and day‑to‑day financial operations, including AP, AR, and payroll. The role prepares annual financial statements and ensures full compliance with tax, statutory and regulatory obligations (GST, payroll tax, FBT, R&D and income tax), while acting as the primary contact for external auditors and managing year‑end audit activities. Additionally, the Financial Controller will undertake process improvement projects. In the coming year, finance will focus on building our FP&A capacity, improving transparency of reporting across the business, enhancing forecasting and refining the annual budgeting process. Projects will also include documentation, internal controls and automation initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency and scalability. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations & Reporting Lead the month end process, ensure accurate and timely journals, reconciliations and reporting. Oversee day to day financial operations including AP, AR, payroll, cashflow and working capital management. Prepare annual financial statements and ensure compliance with tax, statutory and regulatory obligations (GST, payroll tax, FBT, R&D and income tax). Act as primary point of contact for external auditors, coordinating year end audit activities. FP&A Refine monthly reporting and forecasting Build and refine the annual budgeting process. Business partner across the business to support strategic decisions and improve financial accountability across teams. Process Improvement & Controls Review, document and improve finance processes & policies, systems and internal controls. Drive automation initiatives across reporting, finance operations and month end processes to increase accuracy and scalability. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement Lead, mentor and develop the finance team consisting of an accountant and commercial analyst. Maintain stakeholder relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors and other external stakeholders. Qualifications CA qualified with 7+ years’ experience. Preferred chartered environment or tech industry experience. Strong management accounting capability, with a proven ability to drive process and systems improvements. A genuine interest in building an optimal finance function, supporting change, and being hands‑on across a variety of areas. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, growing environment, with the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver high‑quality work under pressure. Above all, you’re a strong all‑rounder with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
