Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA) Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA)…Your chance to work with the best The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street. Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland. The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system. About the Role The Senior Extended Possessions Advisor plays a key role in planning and coordinating major rail closures, known as extended track possessions, for the Cross River Rail project. These closures are essential for construction works and must be carefully managed to minimise disruption to train services and passengers. This role involves working with internal teams, delivery contractors, and external partners like Queensland Rail and Transport and Main Roads. You’ll help prepare and review documentation that shows how and when works will happen, making sure plans are realistic, safe, and aligned with project goals. You’ll also support the governance process by progressing possession requests through approvals, checking readiness, and managing risks or changes. Your work ensures that extended track possessions are delivered smoothly and support the overall sequencing of project milestones. This opportunity is offered as a 2‑year fixed‑term contract with possible extension. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and support the multi‑agency planning of extended track possessions in accordance with established frameworks and processes. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including Cross River Rail project teams, Queensland Rail, and construction contractors, to assist in the preparation of extended track possession documentation and alignment of planning and readiness activities. Contribute information and updates to the Delivery Sequencing Working Group (and other governance forums as required) to support discussions, analysis, and review activities related to extended track possessions. Develop and maintain materials (extended track possession applications, options analysis, risk assessments and reporting) for governance approvals to progress to the next stages of planning or assuring readiness of extended track possessions. Review technical and planning documents and participate in working groups to support the identification of network and customer impacts associated with proposed possessions. Report progress and manage issues and risks related to extended track closures and changes to planned works, escalating to the Delivery Sequencing Manager with solutions and mitigation measures. About You Experience supporting project and program management activities within major transport or infrastructure environments (rail experience highly regarded), with a focus on governance processes. Capable of interpreting complex or technical information and producing effective communication tools suited to a variety of audiences. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. High attention to detail with the ability to check and maintain accurate information and documentation. Highly organised, with the ability to work with initiative and independence, and implement improvements in a time‑sensitive environment. Understanding of and working exposure to the rail industry is viewed favourably. Why work with CRRDA? On Cross River Rail you will not only work with the best but become your best. And as we enter a new phase of delivery, our project offers a rare career opportunity for top tier professionals to have played their part on something that is genuinely city‑shaping and transformative. Our people are supported with flexible work options, career development through the Australian Institute of Management, salary packaging and access to world‑class employee assistance provider Telus Health. At Cross River Rail we are an equal opportunity employer and strive to build balanced teams from all walks of life.
