Position Title Executive Chef – North Woods & Pleasant Valley Camps, YMCA of Greater Boston Location Sandy Island Overnight Camp Compensation $900 - $1,160 per week Job Summary The Head Chef is responsible for delivering breakfast, lunch and dinner to approximately 250 people daily during the two‑month season. The role oversees all operations of the camp dining hall, manages a team of about 16 direct reports (assistant chefs, special diets coordinator, prep staff, serving staff, dish/wipe staff) and collaborates with the Camp Director to set menus and maintain kitchen and dining standards. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain kitchen procedures and Action Plans for the dining staff Develop camp menu at least two weeks in advance of each session Order and inventory manage supplies with primary vendor US Foods Support incident report management and safety system implementation Maintain a safe physical and emotional environment for all community members Essential Functions Live onsite May – October Manage approximately 16 direct reports Deliver breakfast, lunch and dinner to 250 daily Qualifications Full-time availability May 1 – October 15 3 or more years of senior experience in a professional commercial kitchen environment Desire and ability to work with a young staff in a camp setting Strong attention to detail, cleanliness and follow-through Passion for people and willingness to serve Strong culinary skills and passion Ordering and inventory management experience Benefits Room, board in addition to salary commensurate with experience.
