National Open Coach - Nunawading Swimming Club Nunawading Swimming Club, one of Australia's premier performance pathways, is seeking an outstanding full-time National Open Coach to lead our Squad Program and drive continued success from junior development to national representation. We have a proud history of producing Olympians, Paralympians and national age medallists. Based primarily in Ivanhoe, the squad program continues to grow rapidly, powered by a strong Learn-to-Swim foundation and talented athletes. This role offers the opportunity to: Lead and inspire a high-performance squad Strengthen performance through evidence-based athlete development Build strong community relationships and athlete engagement Contribute to the next generation of Australian talent We are seeking a driven, independent and experienced National Open Coach to lead and inspire athletes competing at the highest levels of Australian swimming. Essential Qualifications & Experience ✔ Valid Victorian Working with Children Check ✔ Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) & Provide CPR (HLTAID001) ✔ Pool Lifeguard Skill Set SISSS00111 ✔ Swimming Coaching Accreditation • Advanced or Performance Coach (or equivalent) under Swimming Australia’s National Coaching Framework ✔ Minimum 5+ years coaching at National Age and/or National Open level ✔ Track record of athlete success at State and/or National Championships Key Responsibilities You will: Lead squads targeting Open State and National Championships Deliver seasonal and annual training plans structured to the competition calendar Provide high-level technical coaching and performance feedback Coordinate dryland programming and collaborate with strength & conditioning specialists Conduct performance analysis Mentor and oversee junior coaches Assist with national team placements and selection processes Communicate professionally with athletes and families Ensure compliance with club policies and child safeguarding requirements (Aligned to requirements under Sport Integrity Australia’s National Integrity Framework) Independence & Leadership Operate with strong professional judgement Lead your squad environment and culture Innovate coaching methods backed by evidence-based practice What We Offer • A collaborative, ambitious coaching team • Access to high-performance support services • Clear progression opportunities and recognition • Strong club values and athlete-centred culture About You You bring: Demonstrated experience in developing national-level athletes throughout your coaching career A collaborative and disciplined coaching leadership style Strong communication with parents and stakeholders Skilled use of performance data and modern coaching technologies Additionally required by NSC Inc (policy-based requirements) National Police Check (or ability to obtain) Desirable Strength & Conditioning qualifications Experience leading large squad programs Our Commitment to Child Safety Nunawading Swimming Club is committed to the highest standards of child safeguarding, in line with national and Victorian Child Safe Standards.
