Child and Family Health Nurse – New Directions Aboriginal Mothers and Babies Program NSW Health, Mount Druitt, New South Wales, Australia Employment Details Type: Permanent Full Time Position Classification: Registered Nurse Remuneration: $74,317.94 – $104,336.27 per annum Hours per Week: 38 Location: Mount Druitt Hospital About the Role As the Child and Family Health Nurse (CFHN), you will support infants, young children, and families through culturally responsive, strength‑based care in the New Directions Aboriginal Mothers and Babies Program. Key Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based child and family health services within a primary health care model. Partner with families to support early development, wellbeing and parenting confidenceli> Identify health, developmental and psychosocial needs using early intervention and wellness‑focused approaches. Work closely with Aboriginal Health Workers and multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. Contribute to community education programmes and advocate for equitable access to services. Essential Criteria Qualifications: Postgraduate qualification relevant to the role of a Child and Family Health Nurse, or current enrolment with a course completion date within 2 years of employment. Registration: Current enrolment with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse Division 1. Evidence of knowledge of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures and experience working with Aboriginal families. Selection Criteria Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and connections with local Aboriginal community. Experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families, including post‑registration experience. Ability to organise and prioritise work. Commitment to evidence‑based Child and Family Health nursing practice. Good oral and written communication and computer skills. Ability to utilise information technology systems and electronic health record systems. Valid driver’s licence in NSW.
