Well now’s your chance Gilmour Space is seeking a talented Senior Accountant (3–6-month Contract) to join our innovative team to send rockets to Space Conveniently located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, our new state-of-the-art facility, purpose-built for designing and manufacturing rockets in-house, is equipped with the latest technology and tools, providing an ideal environment for innovation and excellence. Join us and be a part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of space exploration and let’s send Australia to Space together How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space : The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do : Accounting for and maintaining internal management accounting reports related to Government grants and each department’s Actual vs Budget performance. Managing the treasury aspects of Government grants for dedicated projects. Monitoring budgets, communicating actual spend against budgets and taking appropriate action where necessary to assist the company and its trading partners to comply with corporate and grant budgets. Undertaking cost benefit analysis on strategic asset acquisition. Performing detailed cost accounting and reporting of production costs and identifying areas for improvement. Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, supervising staff members in those functions. General assistance in the Finance Department on accounting matters. Other duties as requested by the Chief Financial Officer / Financial Controller. Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience : Proven experience in budgetary control and bookkeeping, including handling accounts payable and a degree of independence to use initiative. Strong financial analysis skills Must be NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred. Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience : 5-10 years of experience in management accounting. Accounting qualifications (CA / CPA preferred) The ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Experience with Xero or similar systems will be an advantage.
