Our 70‑plus‑person Environmental Approvals, Closure & Management (EAC&M) technical discipline is one of the largest in SLR APAC and includes a broad range of experts across our 24 offices. Role Overview Reporting to the APAC Technical Discipline Manager, this newly created senior management role provides the opportunity to lead the Queensland state team from either Brisbane, Townsville or Mackay. The role requires a leader in Environmental Science with a developed client network, a recognised reputation for attracting new talent, and a passion for developing the careers of our valued environmental consultants. We have a strong pipeline of work and focus on technical excellence and strong client relationships. Responsibilities Develop, facilitate and enhance effective relationships with clients and internal SLR team members, particularly across other technical disciplines. Manage 3 direct Team Leader reports and around 30 indirect reports in QLD (structure may adjust as the team grows). Lead and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects. Develop and implement team business plans and strategies in partnership with the APAC Technical Discipline Manager. Work with team leads to drive growth, profitability, and technical excellence. Conduct thorough technical reviews and mentor/develop Team Leads and senior staff. Deliver clear, precise, high‑quality reports. Collaborate with the In‑house Talent Acquisition team to attract new experts into our business. Qualifications / Experience 15+ years of industry experience within a consultancy group. Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or Engineering. Post‑graduate qualifications highly regarded. Extensive team‑management experience, ideally managing managers. Excellent interpersonal, communication, report‑writing and mentoring skills. Strong track record building, nurturing and maintaining client relationships.
