About theOPPORTUNITY This position providescomprehensive, culturally safe, mental health liaison and acuteintervention services, nursing leadership, professionalconsultation and advanced clinical practice within a WheatbeltHospital environment. Responsible for providing a timely andspecialised Clinical Mental Health Liaison Consultancy service toall Wheatbelt Hospitals. The prime purpose of this position is toconduct primary mental health assessments of all patientspresenting the Wheatbelt Emergency Departments or who are admittedonto general wards and who may be considered requiring specialisedmental health assessments. Priorities include consultation servicesto clinicians providing assistance and information to consumer andcarers. Is a liaison and link with relevant others in WheatbeltHealth Services, Community Mental Health Services, Alcohol andOther Drugs services and Mental Health Emergency TelehealthServices. To be successfulin this role, you will have… Workplace leadershipexperience relevant to hospital-based mental healthpractice. Advanced skills in theassessment and nursing management of complex psychiatricpresentations, risk assessment, crisis intervention andmanagement of aggression in a clinical setting and providingevidence-based interventions for people with mentaldisorders. Advanced written,verbal and interpersonal communication, negotiation andconflict resolution skills. Advanced knowledge ofthe Mental Health Act of WA. Anability to work within a multidisciplinaryenvironment. Aworking knowledge of computers and information systems relevantto the position/role including the use of video conferencingoptions.
