About the Role The Deputy Director-General leads the Commissioning Division, providing contemporary strategic leadership to ensure safe, inclusive and effective service delivery across Queensland. You will drive commissioning reform through: redesigning programs strengthening investment approaches stewardship of the delivery of targeted supports for women, children, families, seniors, carers and people with disability. You will represent the Director-General in key forums, lead statewide partnerships with community and government, oversee major investment programs, and provide authoritative advice to the Minister and departmental executive. This role requires exceptional judgement, strategic capability, agility, and the ability to lead complex reform programs in a dynamic environment. You will foster a high-performing workforce, drive cultural capability, lead organisational improvement, manage financial performance, and ensure the delivery of responsive, sustainable and client-centred services. About You You are an accomplished senior executive with a track record of leading transformation in large, complex organisations. You will bring deep experience in strategy, social policy, commissioning, service delivery, or large-scale reform. In addition, you demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement capability, including experience partnering with First Nations communities, working across government, and collaborating with sector leaders to improve outcomes. You lead with integrity, curiosity, courage and accountability, and you inspire high performance, champion inclusion, and create cultures where people thrive. You understand public sector values and are committed to serving Queenslanders with professionalism, empathy and impact. Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in commissioning, government financial management or public sector reform will be highly regarded. This role pays in the SES4 High band.
