The Role Primary Health Services North West is seeking a dedicated professional to work within our team. This position is responsible for leading and coordinating the infection control activities within the Primary Health portfolio of services across the District Hospitals and Community Health Services. This essential position supports the strategic direction, operational processes and delivery of a high standard of clinical care throughout the Primary Health sites and services. This includes acting as our representative at various regional and state-wide meetings to ensure the provision of expert advice and support from the Infection Prevention and Control perspective. The role of the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) - Infection Prevention & Control is to: Liaise, consult and support the North West Primary Health Services (District Hospitals, Aged Care and Community Health Services) in the development and implementation of infection control policies, practice, programs and education and training programs in conjunction with the Tasmanian Infection Prevention and Control Unit (TIPCU) to provide safe quality patient/resident/client care. Identify the learning and support requirements of the Primary Health Services in the North West and, with the support of TIPCU, incorporate these into the National and Statewide initiatives/direction framework. Work collaboratively with the Infection Prevention and Control CNC - Mersey Community Hospital and North West Regional Hospital in the delivery of infection control programs throughout the North West. Details of appointment Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 64 hours per fortnight, commencing from 29 December 2025. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type Salary Packaging You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
