Location: Five Dock, New South Wales The Greenkeeper Apprentice role is a 3‑to‑4‑year apprenticeship with the City of Canada Bay Council, offering Certificate III in Sports Turf Management through structured training and on‑the‑job experience. Description Training in a local government setting. Gain practical skills and advance to a fully qualified tradesperson upon completion. About the Role Assist in the development and maintenance of sports facilities, parks, and gardens across the City of Canada Bay Council. Responsibilities include, but may also involve, mowing, weeding, fertilizing, litter collection, spraying herbicides/pesticides, irrigation, watering, and operating equipment. Ability to meet the physical and manual‑handling requirements of the role, and a strong willingness to work outdoors. Ability to work under supervision and collaborate as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment. Knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety. A commitment to meeting training requirements and fostering personal development. WHS Construction Induction Card (White Card) or willingness to obtain before commencement. Current NSW Class C licence. A genuine interest and passion in greenkeeper work. Desirable Skills Previous experience or interest in greenkeeping or grounds maintenance. Experience with garden hand tools and small plant equipment. Experience as part of a functioning team. Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
