Overview Apprentice Greenkeeper – Sports Turf Management Join the City of Canterbury Bankstown (CBCity) to start a four‑year apprenticeship in a supportive environment where you’ll learn on the job while completing one day a week at TAFE. The Role Kickstart your greenkeeping career with CBCity As an Apprentice Greenkeeper you will help prepare and maintain Council’s high‑profile sports fields, wickets and ovals. Responsibilities include checking field conditions, assisting with maintenance tasks, learning to operate equipment, ensuring facilities are safe and tidy, and supporting the team with general duties. You will also take part in training and work flexibly when required (including some weekends and public holidays). Responsibilities Assist with day‑to‑day maintenance of sports fields and associated infrastructure. Check field conditions and report any deficiencies. Operate equipment under supervision. Ensure safety, tidiness, and readiness of facilities. Participate in ongoing training and development. Work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays, as needed. Qualifications NSW Record of School Achievement (RoSA) Current Provisional or Unrestricted C Class Driver’s Licence Willingness to work and actively contribute to a team Demonstrated ability to undertake formal study of sports turf management Salary & Benefits Commences at $36,800 (T3 at 17 years of age) or $43,024 (T4 at 18 years or completed HSC) + 12% super.
