Lecturer / Senior Lecturer - Safety Sciences CQUniversity’s School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences is seeking an experienced academic to support the growth and development of our distinctive Safety Sciences courses. This position plays a key role in delivering and developing curriculum across multiple study levels, drawing on a broad knowledge of safety sciences and a commitment to applied, industry‑aligned education. Location: CQUniversity locations across Queensland – Cairns, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Emerald, Gladstone, Mackay, Townsville – with options for Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide or Work From Home negotiable. Continuing, Full‑Time School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences Lecturer (Level B) – Total Remuneration $134,885 to $157,870 pa (salary $113,980 to $133,403 + 17% superannuation and leave loading) Senior Lecturer (Level C) – Total Remuneration $162,470 to $184,987 pa (salary $137,290 to $156,317 + 17% superannuation and leave loading) One position available. Responsibilities Deliver and develop curriculum across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, incorporating industry‑aligned learning outcomes. Use innovative teaching approaches and digital tools to enhance student learning. Engage in applied research that makes a meaningful impact in the field of safety sciences, integrating research outcomes into teaching practice. Collaborate with industry and community partners to enrich course content and provide real‑world learning opportunities. Position Requirements – Lecturer A completed postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) in Safety Sciences. Demonstrated senior‑level industry experience in Safety Sciences. Expertise in risk management, safety systems or Occupational Health and Safety law. Proven ability to teach and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including curriculum design and multi‑modal delivery. A track record of applied research in Safety Science and the integration of research outcomes into teaching practice. Position Requirements – Additional for Senior Lecturer A completed (or near completion) PhD in Safety Sciences or a closely related discipline. Proven experience in team leadership. Expertise in developing engaging teaching resources and fostering collaboration with industry and community partners.
