Direct message the job poster from K&L Gates Role Overview This vacancy is within our commercial disputes practice, focusing on general commercial litigation and high-level professional indemnity litigation for clients across various industries, including insurers of professionals, with an emphasis on lawyers. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, dynamic, knowledgeable team at a renowned firm handling international and cross-border matters. You will provide legal advice, conduct defense work, and appear in court. You will also mentor junior lawyers and support business development efforts. Key Responsibilities Manage commercial litigation in the Supreme, Federal Court, and Court of Appeal Advise and conduct defense work Assist corporate policyholders with insurance claims recovery Guide policyholders on insurance policies and wording Participate in business development, client meetings, pitches, and marketing Mentor and develop colleagues through training and supervision Contribute to firm learning resources and precedents Assist with financial management, estimates, invoices, and fee collection Candidate Profile We value a friendly, respectful culture. The ideal candidate possesses technical excellence, client service skills, and teamwork ability. You should have experience in commercial litigation, preferably with insurance litigation or coverage, and be comfortable with technical work outside your specialty. Candidates with professional negligence experience are encouraged to apply. Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience in commercial litigation is preferred.
