About The Role As Product Lead, you’ll shape how COEX’s physical infrastructure and hardware evolve; from reverse vending machines to consumable products and new collection and return points across Queensland. Reporting to the Product & Innovation Manager, this role works alongside the digital product team, but in the physical space: translating CX insights into tangible enhancements, managing vendors, overseeing manufacturing milestones, running procurement processes and evaluating product performance. You’ll work across the entire lifecycle of the scheme on long-term, complex projects where impact is measured statewide. Key Responsibilities Lead physical product development and improvements end-to-end Manage external vendors: requirements, negotiations, manufacturing milestones Develop strong stakeholder relationships Run procurement activities, write RFPs and oversee selection processes Forecast budgets for prototypes, unit purchases and strategic initiatives Deliver detailed monthly/quarterly/annual budget reporting Drive projects forward, identify stakeholders and manage execution Evaluate Voice of Customer and CX data to deliver product enhancements Visit sites, suppliers and manufacturing facilities to assess product performance Monitor machine performance and prepare product performance reporting Think broadly about circularity and the full product life-cycle design What we’re looking for A design or product specialist with 3+ years’ experience across product management, UX/CX, product development, industrial design or similar Exposure to physical products or hardware, ideally in manufacturing, engineering or operational environments A confident researcher who can assess vendors, gather user requirements, translate them to product specifications and manage delivery milestones Comfortable running procurement activities, including preparing RFPs and evaluating vendor responses Enjoys complexity and long‑term delivery, working well through detailed processes and comprehensive product cycles Able to navigate both innovation and process, balancing creativity with governance and stakeholder influence Genuinely motivated by sustainability, recycling, innovation and real‑world impact Why join COEX COEX is officially Great Place To Work® certified and recognised as an Inclusive Employer by Diversity Council Australia, a reflection of their culture, impact, and values in action.
