About the Role We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Facilities Manager to lead our Repairs & Maintenance Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the hotel is safe, functional and impeccably presented. You will oversee maintenance operations, manage the maintenance team, coordinate repairs, lead WHS and fire safety compliance, support CAPEX projects, and collaborate closely with all hotel departments to enhance the guest experience and operational efficiency. A strong communicator and proactive leader, you will balance strategy with day‑to‑day problem solving to keep the hotel running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily maintenance operations and allocate tasks to the handyperson team Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, staff and management Lead, mentor and train maintenance staff to ensure performance and compliance Maintain and enhance preventative maintenance programs and asset management plans Conduct regular property, plant, and equipment inspections Ensure compliance with WHS, fire safety, building codes and brand standards Maintain electrical, HVAC, hydraulic, refrigeration and BMS systems Manage contractors, external service providers and procurement processes Monitor budgets, control costs and support CAPEX planning and delivery Oversee WHS programs, incident investigations and risk assessments Manage fire safety systems, training and evacuation procedures Champion sustainability initiatives across energy, water and waste Skills & Experience Minimum five years’ experience in maintenance or facilities management Trade background or formal facilities/engineering qualification Demonstrated leadership experience with a hands‑on approach Strong knowledge of WHS, risk management and safe work practices Experience managing contractors, procurement and budgets Strong problem‑solving ability and capacity to prioritise effectively Excellent communication skills with a collaborative mindset Experience in hospitality facilities highly regarded Training & Certifications (Required or Willingness to Obtain): Health & Safety Representative (HSR) Fire Safety Advisor (FSA) Electrical Safety Awareness (ESA) Safe Work Method Statements (SWMs) Competency in work permits, JSA/JHA processes Incredible team member discounts from your first day on‑the‑job. 50% off stays at EVT hotels – Rydges, QT, Atura, Lylo and more. $2 movie tickets, plus Moonlight, Gold Class, Candy Bar discounts and more.
