Our Opportunity Work Location: Port Hedland, Western Australia, Fortescue’s Port Hedland operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people. Roster: 4 Days On / 3 Days Off – FIFO ex Perth or Residentially based in Port Hedland (relocation assistance offered). Fortescue is seeking an experienced and people-focused Superintendent Electrical Maintenance to lead a high-performing electrical maintenance team across our Port Operations. In this role, you’ll drive the safe and efficient delivery of asset performance through planned maintenance, effective breakdown response, and long-term reliability strategies. You’ll also play a key part in developing a supportive and inclusive team culture that fosters growth, innovation, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Champion and promote a strong electrical safety culture across site. Lead, develop and coach supervisors, coordinators, tradespeople and apprentices. Drive continuous improvement through technical innovation and operational excellence. Manage and control approved budgets to deliver cost-effective, compliant maintenance outcomes. Engage and influence key stakeholders to achieve strategic and operational objectives. Qualifications And Experience Australian Recognised Electrical Trade Qualification. Current WA ‘A’ Class Electrical Workers Licence and Nominee’s Ticket. High Voltage ticket and HV switching experience (highly regarded). Proven experience in a Superintendent-level role, ideally within an iron ore or heavy industry environment. Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory electrical requirements in mining. Knowledge of PLCs, instrumentation, control systems and variable speed drives. Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems. Demonstrated competency using SAP.
