What is the Horticulture traineeship Kickstart your career in horticulture with Inner West Council. This hands‑on role lets you earn while you learn, gaining valuable skills while completing a Certificate III in Horticulture. Over the next 24 months, you’ll be part of a fully supported program that blends on‑the‑job training with face‑to‑face classes approximately one day every three weeks at Penrith. You’ll be part of a team delivering high‑quality horticultural and landscaping services while building valuable skills for your future. Guided by a clear training plan, you’ll work towards key competencies, complete assessments, and track your progress as you grow your career. You’ll carry out a mix of horticultural and landscaping tasks – from mowing, planting, mulching and fertilising to spraying and watering – while keeping our trucks and equipment in good order.
