Opportunity Mott MacDonald is seeking an exceptional Transport Market Leader for Victoria to play a pivotal role in shaping and growing our Victorian transport business. With transport delivering a significant share of state revenue and the market remaining highly competitive, this role is critical to sustaining performance, strengthening client influence, and leading a large, diverse cohort of transport professionals with clarity and conviction. You’ll combine market leadership and work‑winning with strong operational oversight and people leadership, energising teams, building capability, and ensuring we deliver the high‑quality outcomes our clients expect. What you’ll do As the Transport Market Leader VIC, you will: Lead market growth and win work Identify, shape and lead strategic bids, guiding proposal strategy and commercial positioning to win great work. Stay on the pulse of Victorian transport trends, policy shifts and competitor movements to anticipate opportunities and risks. Represent Mott MacDonald externally as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the transport sector. Build trusted transport networks Maintain and expand strong relationships across government agencies, industry bodies, Tier 1 contractors, major clients and partners. Be deeply connected in the Victorian transport ecosystem, knowing who’s who, and ensuring visibility and influence in the right places. Lead a high‑performing, diverse team Directly lead and coach 8‑10 senior leaders and guide a broader team of 120 people. Set a compelling vision, provide clarity of purpose, and create an environment that motivates people to do exceptional work. Develop emerging leaders, strengthen succession pipelines and uplift capability across the business. Drive operational excellence Oversee business operations including resource allocation, account management, financial performance and delivery quality. Ensure project outputs meet professional standards, client expectations and legislative requirements, with strong quality and risk management. Embed continual improvement, challenging how we work to deliver better outcomes for clients and teams. What you’ll bring You’re a confident, established transport leader who is already well‑regarded in the Victorian market and brings: Proven success in market leadership, business development and winning work in transport. Strong operational capability, able to lead delivery excellence in a complex, multi‑project environment. Highly developed stakeholder and client relationship skills, including government and major delivery partners. A track record of leading large teams and senior leaders, lifting culture and capability through coaching and clarity.
