About the Organisation UMFC is a proudly independent, community‑managed organisation dedicated to strengthening families and individuals across North East Victoria and Southern Riverina of NSW through social justice, inclusion, and trauma‑informed care. The organisation embeds the Sanctuary Model across all levels, creating a safe and supportive culture for staff and the communities they serve. Job Summary HRCLS is looking for multiple full‑time Lawyers (Family Law and Civil Law) based in Wodonga, VIC. These roles will support vulnerable individuals through family law/family violence or civil law matters and provide opportunities for community education, law reform and advocacy within a values‑led environment. Responsibilities Deliver legal advice, casework and representation in family law/family violence or civil law Participate in community legal education and stakeholder engagement initiatives Provide holistic support in collaboration with allied community services Represent clients in courts and tribunals as appropriate Maintain accurate records and comply with professional standards Participate in law reform and advocacy initiatives as relevant Qualifications Unrestricted practising certificate in Australia Court advocacy experience in family law, family violence or civil matters Familiarity with the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and Magistrates' Court processes Interest or experience in cross‑jurisdictional issues such as tenancy, credit, debt or family violence Understanding of trauma‑informed practice and working with disadvantaged communities Current C Class Driver’s Licence Working with Children Clearance and a clear National Police Check Benefits Hybrid work model (up to 2 days WFH per week) Relocation assistance of up to $2,500 5 weeks annual leave (pro‑rata) + 3 additional leave days (between Christmas and New Year) 17.5% annual leave loading Access to salary packaging options to maximise take‑home pay Flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) A collaborative, supportive and values‑led work culture Ongoing in‑house training and professional development opportunities Access to fleet vehicles for work‑related travel Living in Wodonga Wodonga is ideally situated on the Murray River between Melbourne and Sydney on the Hume Highway.
