Overview Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals Permanent Up to 1.6FTE (minimum 0.6FTE) Staff Specialist Department of Radiology Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above positions in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). The positions will be located at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals within the Department of Radiology, and successful applicants will be rostered equally to work at both sites during the week. Responsibilities Successful applicants will work as part of a well‑established team, with peer support, and opportunities for personal and professional development. The position will provide opportunities to undertake a variety of roles in addition to diagnostic radiology, such as clinical supervision, consultation, teaching and research. Duties include admitting, consultative, procedural, outpatient and on‑call services within the specialty as determined and required by the District. Duties cover Blacktown Hospital and Mount Druitt Hospital equally. Successful candidates will be required to work a minimum of 0.6FTE and will be part of an on‑call roster. MRI, CT, US, general reporting and interventional Radiology Tier A skills are essential. Essential Requirements for Appointment Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the RANZCR or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license Sound clinical knowledge in Radiology and experience in MRI, CT, US, general reporting and Interventional Radiology Tier A skills are essential and demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position. Successful applicants may be offered a conjoint university appointment within the Faculty of Medicine at the relevant University attached to each facility. The level of academic appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and scholarship and will be held only during the tenure of the Western Sydney Local Health District appointment. No remuneration is attached to the University appointment. The appointee will be responsible to the University for academic matters and to the District for clinical matters. Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Selection Criteria Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the specialty. Evidence of additional qualifications, skills and/or experience required for specific scope of practice for the specialty. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:Proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi‑disciplinary health care team. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. Excellent organisational, supervision and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships. Maintaining and developing knowledge, skills and professional performance to the level required for contemporary practice. Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and translation of research into practice to improve patient safety and quality. Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently and contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care system. Demonstrated aptitude for clinical leadership which is evidenced by:Systems thinking and risk‑taking aptitude. Commitment to self‑care and personal development. Capacity to maintain personal integrity, tolerate stress and demonstrate resilience. Commitment to building relationships, leading, and developing others. Results and outcome focused.
