Director of Basketball

ABOUT THE ROLE
The King’s School has a proud tradition of sporting participation and excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our School in this new position of Director of Basketball.This role is crucial to the ongoing success and development of students across all The King’s School Basketball co-curricular sporting programs. The Director of Basketball will lead and manage the program across the School and engage with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally in order to provide the best environment for the students. This includes working collaboratively with the Director of Sport, Directors of Individual Sports and Head Coaches, Head of Athletic Development, and all Basketball coaching staff to create and monitor facilitate programs for individuals and team sports programs.
Commencing in July 2024, this is a Temporary Full-Time role with potential to move to Permanent in 2025. This role requires some flexibility in hours as most of these programs occur outside normal school hours.

To be successful for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate how you meet the following:
•Experience in managing a large Basketball program•Hold a current coaching accreditation relevant to the role.•Demonstrated experience in customer service, liaison and negotiation•Knowledge, skills and experience in the following:•Athlete monitoring platforms (Smartabase etc)•
Microsoft Office 365•
Clipboard Co-curricular Management System•Can work with a high degree of responsibility and organisation•Can show initiative and work independently•Can communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders•Enjoy developing individual player abilities and embedding a love of sport•Can demonstrate leadership in developing coaches•Must hold a current Working With Children Check•Must hold a current Senior First Aid Qualification•Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
