Build connection through lived experience, cultural knowledge and community relationships SCHADS 3.3 ($40.62 per hour + superannuation + salary packaging benefits) Full time opportunity until June 2026, based in Rockhampton/Gympie/Hervey Bay/Emerald About The Program We are seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peer Coordinator to lead a culturally grounded, community-connected approach to suicide prevention within the TRISP program. This identified role values lived experience, cultural authority and strong community connections as essential to providing safe, meaningful and strengths-based support. The Identified TRISP Suicide Prevention Peer Coordinator will focus on building connection, cultural safety and coordinated support for people experiencing distress. This role strengthens and integrates community responses to distress and suicidality by expanding referral pathways, promoting education and training and supporting culturally grounded, community‑led approaches to safety and wellbeing. About The Opportunity As the Peer Coordinator, you will draw on your own lived experience of suicide distress, loss or recovery as well as your cultural knowledge with an understanding of local protocols, ways of knowing, being and doing. You will help create culturally safe, welcoming pathways for community to engage, while supporting a peer‑led model that is trauma‑informed, non‑clinical and centred on hope, self‑determination and recovery.
