Job Description An exciting opportunity for a Senior Platform Engineer with expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our Cloud Operations team. In this role, you'll make a significant impact across the entire organisation by optimising our cloud infrastructure to reduce costs, implementing best practices to enhance security, and supporting development teams to streamline processes and boost cloud adoption. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. This position requires a strong understanding of cloud technologies, automation, and best practices for infrastructure as code. As a Senior Platform Engineer you will Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments. Monitor and optimise system performance, availability, and security. Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues. Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth application deployments. Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures. Participate in on-call rotations for incident response. Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience Strong experience with AWS and GCP services, including compute, storage, networking, and security. Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, teamCity, GitLab CI). Experience with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Highly desirable AWS or GCP certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
