Victim Response Officer | Victims of Crime Community Recovery Employment Term: Maximum term ending Jun 2026, Part‑time (16‑38 hours per week) Service Hours: Monday‑Thursday 5 pm‑9 am, Friday 4 pm‑Monday 9 am and public holidays. Full availability within these hours is not required, only a reasonable variety of availability. Location: On‑site in Logan, Ipswich, Rockhampton, Cairns & Townsville – travel for outreach support; duties can also be performed from a work‑from‑home environment. Remuneration: $51 per hour + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (tax savings and increased take‑home pay). Close Date: Applications are reviewed as received. Program Overview The Victims of Crime Community Recovery (VOCCR) program delivers short‑term, trauma‑informed support to victims and families in the critical days following a serious violent crime. Operating 24/7 across five locations in Queensland, the program provides immediate brokerage, referrals and long‑term recovery facilitation. Responsibilities • Operate within a trauma‑informed framework, providing intake and assessment, immediate and practical support to victims, families and witnesses of serious violent incidents. • Engage clients through phone and face‑to‑face interactions, ensuring timely intervention and collaborative support to meet urgent needs and promote recovery. Qualifications & Experience Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or related field plus a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Alternative qualifications with substantial experience that meet an equivalent standard will be considered. Demonstrated experience in trauma‑informed practice, crisis response, case management and/or mental health support. Proven ability to communicate respectfully, non‑threateningly and non‑intrusively with people from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. High‑level communication, listening and advocacy skills. Ability to manage change, difficult situations and provide viable solutions. Strong personal resilience to work in environments with potential vicarious trauma. Commitment to promoting victim‑led recovery and satisfaction. Current Queensland driver’s licence. Valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card). Flexibility to pick up shifts within the service hours, including overnight and weekend work.
