Overview We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to drive technical excellence and delivery across multiple squads within the AI Workflows & Experience team. You will help shape the user property journey by building intelligent AI assistants and scalable, real-time AI solutions that enhance our web and app experiences. Where the team fits in This role sits in the Membership and Leads to Keys Portfolio within the Consumer Group. The Consumer Group aims to be the number one destination for Australian property and real estate, delivering engaging experiences. The AI Workflows & Experience team collaborates with multiple groups to deliver smart recommendations, listing insights, and conversational support. What the role is all about Lead technical strategy and delivery across multiple squads, including product roadmap delivery and engineering quality. Oversee the technical design of solutions within your team and maintain system health and engineering compliance. Own the operation of systems your team builds and contribute to the group’s support roster and incident resolution. Contribute to product discovery through technical direction and feasibility assessments. Foster engineering excellence through best practices (design patterns, clean code, TDD, unit testing). Align with REA standards and platforms, and contribute to business cases where applicable. Support other teams that use or contribute to your systems and services, e.g., through federation. Guide and manage individual contributors to foster career development, typically 5–12 engineers in your team as direct reports. Deliver the product roadmap and provide forecasts and timelines for product roadmaps. Who we’re looking for Extensive experience leading and motivating multiple engineering teams in an agile environment. Advanced technical expertise in data science/machine learning. Proven ability to craft robust end-to-end solutions and manage complex production systems. Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of cross-functional collaboration. Ability to navigate multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement. Commitment to delivery excellence and innovation, promoting best practices and strategic alignment within the team.
