Manager – Governance, Risk and Compliance At Scyne we are public‑purpose sector specialists who support governments and their agencies, and not‑for‑profit organisations, to deliver services to Australians. Our culture is built on values such as Stronger Together, Amplify Impact, Build Trusted Relationships, Value Every Person, Think Beyond Limits and Defined by Ethics. Role Overview We need a Manager to lead high‑impact Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) engagements across a portfolio of mid‑ to large‑scale government projects in Melbourne. The role offers exposure to diverse programmes – from defence and health to justice and emergency services – and involves partnering with senior leaders, collaborating in teams of 4–8 and working with a dedicated People Lead for your development and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities Help clients meet their governance, risk and compliance obligations through practical, forward‑looking advice. Manage the delivery of GRC engagements across multiple clients. Design and implement risk‑management frameworks (including work health & safety), control environments and assurance activities. Conduct compliance reviews, maturity assessments and risk‑management advice that strengthen client capabilities and transparency. Embed risk‑by‑design principles into transformation and reform programmes. Partner with eGRC technology providers (e.g., ServiceNow, 6clicks, Protecht) to enable clients with modern, technology‑enabled risk solutions. Support business development and proposal efforts, bringing subject‑matter expertise and client experience to the table. Develop junior team members through effective on‑the‑job training and coaching. Qualifications 5+ years of relevant experience in governance, risk management, compliance or assurance – either in government or consulting. University degree, ideally in accounting, business, legal, risk management, governance, compliance, investigations, evaluation, fraud or audit. Strong working knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 31000 and the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy. Demonstrated ability to develop risk frameworks, compliance programmes, assurance plans or control‑testing frameworks. Proven ability to build effective relationships with clients and internal teams. Proven ability to manage the delivery of multiple engagements, managing competing priorities. Experience in implementing eGRC tools is highly desirable.
