Be among the first 25 applicants Risk and Compliance Manager The College of Law is seeking a Risk and Compliance Manager to review, design and implement robust risk and compliance frameworks that support governance across academic and corporate functions in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. About The Role Reporting to the Chief Governance Officer & Company Secretary, you will lead the development, monitoring, and assurance of risk and compliance frameworks, ensuring the College meets regulatory, academic, and corporate standards. This is a hands‑on role where you will conduct audits, influence stakeholders, and embed governance culture across the organisation. In This Pivotal Role You Will Develop and maintain risk and compliance frameworks and policies Be responsible for Line 2 in the 3 Lines of Defence Risk Management model Stay across legislative changes (AU, UK, NZ) and ensure policies reflect reforms Monitor regulatory compliance, conduct reviews and deliver durable and practical solutions Manage the risk‑register and collaborate with business units to identify and escalation risk Oversee privacy, contract management and approvals registers Prepare reports for senior leadership, committees, and Boards Implement compliance attestation processes (bi‑annual) Conduct gap analysis against TEQSA Higher Education Standards Framework Draft and document procedures; educate and train staff on governance and compliance simplifying complex information for diverse audiences Who You Are You are a proactive, detail‑oriented professional who thrives on being able to work independently but also part of a team and building internal relationships, you have a continuous improvement mindset, focused on best practice. What You’ll Bring Tertiary qualifications in Risk, Compliance, Governance, Law, Business or related discipline Demonstrated experience in risk and compliance roles, preferably in higher education Experience with Line 2 in the 3 lines of defence model Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks across Australia, New Zealand and/or the United Kingdom. Knowledge of TEQSA standards and regulatory frameworks Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information Skilled in stakeholder engagement, influencing, and collaboration Proficiency in M365 (SharePoint, Teams) and risk/compliance software Professionalism, accountability, and a “continuous improvement” mindset Personality fit Trustworthy, open, and transparent Self‑starter who looks for opportunities to improve, not maintain the status quo Comfortable in a close‑knit, collaborative team culture Why Join College of Law This is a newly created role with the opportunity to shape governance frameworks and make a lasting impact.
