Child Health Research Centre Part-time (60% FTE), fixed‑term position through to 30 June 2026. Base salary will be in the range $102,565.37 – $111,683.39 + 17% superannuation (HEW Level 7). Based at the Child Health Research Centre, South Brisbane. About This Opportunity Join the Child Health Research Centre (CHRC) as a Speech and Language Pathologist and take the next step beyond traditional clinical practice. This is a unique opportunity to apply your clinical expertise in a community-focused, educational and partnership-based role that contributes to improving neurodevelopmental outcomes for children across Queensland. Working as part of The Neurodevelopmental Clinic, a collaborative research partnership between Children’s Health Queensland, The Murri School and Inala Indigenous Health and Cherbourg Community Health – you will provide clinical advice and support to research teams, co‑design educational resources, and deliver professional development for community and clinical partners. Rather than direct therapy, this role focuses on consultation, co‑design, education, and community engagement, making it ideal for an experienced clinician looking to broaden their impact, particularly through meaningful work with First Nations communities and diverse regional partners. Key responsibilities will include: Providing high-level clinical advice to research teams and partner organisations to enhance service delivery and research translation. Building capacity among community and clinical partners through education, consultation, and professional development activities. Developing and maintaining collaborative relationships across Queensland, including with First Nations and regional communities. Supporting research initiatives through clinical input, data review, and resource development to improve neurodevelopmental assessment and diagnostic pathways. Contributing to the refinement of service delivery models through consultation, partnership, and evidence‑based innovation. This position includes regular local travel within the Brisbane region, as well as regional travel approximately once per month. Completion of a relevant tertiary qualification and at least four years of subsequent experience (or equivalent). Full AHPRA registration as a Speech Pathologist (essential). Eligibility for credentialing within Queensland Health facilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate multiple stakeholder relationships across diverse communities. Confidence in delivering workshops, professional development, and educational initiatives. Excellent computer and administrative skills, including data entry, record management and Microsoft Office proficiency. A collaborative mindset and cultural awareness, with experience or interest in working alongside First Nations communities. Driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for travel. Desirable Experience working with children and adolescents affected by prenatal alcohol exposure/FASD. Prior experience in clinical research or service development projects. The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre‑employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check & AHPRA registration.
