What you'll be doing We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager ANZ to lead and manage the payroll function across Australia and New Zealand. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate timely and compliant payroll processing for all employees while driving continuous improvement and supporting broader initiatives. The Payroll Manager will oversee end‑to‑end payroll operations, ensure compliance with employment legislation, lead payroll audits and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external providers. The main objective of this role is to : Be responsible for managing the day‑to‑day operations of the payroll department and systems within Atturra, including the onboarding of new starters with timely and accurate high volume fortnightly payroll processing for employees and contingent workers. Ensure compliance accuracy and continuous improvement in payroll systems and processes. Key Accountabilities Mentor and guide payroll team members ensuring operational excellence. Administer statutory obligations such as superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax and other deductions. Reconcile payroll reports, prepare and lodge STP / EOY reconciliations, and handle internal and external queries. Handle complex payroll matters such as termination, redundancy calculations, leave entitlements. Perform new starter weekly inductions. Balance sheet reconciliations. Collaborate closely with People & Culture, Finance and Management to ensure seamless integration of payroll and HR systems. Assist with internal and external audits. Onboard new businesses into the Atturra Business Systems. Working Conditions Employment Type: Permanent full time Work Arrangement: Onsite Office Location: Sydney / Perth What will make you successful in this role Extensive payroll experience in a large and high‑volume organisation with at least 2 years leading a payroll team. Strong knowledge of ANZ payroll legislation, superannuation / kiwisaver tax and compliance requirements. Hands‑on experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g. NetSuite, SuccessFactors, etc.). Excel and reporting skills with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent stakeholder management and strong customer focus with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Demonstrated leadership and team management experience (preferred).
