Mungabareena Aboriginal Corporation is looking for a compassionate and committed Aboriginal Family Violence Officer (AFVO) to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal individuals and families who may be or are experiencing family or domestic violence. Responsibilities Take on a caseload as an Aboriginal Family Violence Officer providing culturally safe and responsive support to Aboriginal children, women, and men, and liaise with other professionals and services within and external to MAC to improve access to services for Aboriginal people. Apply skills and knowledge in screening and triage, assessment, crisis response, immediate to longer term housing needs, service planning, targeted interventions, and referrals with reference to relevant frameworks, guidelines, specifications, risk assessments and policies and procedures. Deliver specialist expertise or advice via phone, at MAC's office and through outreach at client's homes or other sites. Develop work methods and deliver culturally competent responses to Aboriginal children, women, and men, informed by cultural and client experience with reference to relevant practice frameworks and legislation. Identify, assess, and prioritise risk and the needs of Aboriginal women and children, families, and perpetrators, drawing on qualifications and or experience. Keep accurate and complete records of work activities using knowledge of legislative requirements, and the Victoria Government's information security and privacy policies and requirements, and Observe established guidelines for your own health and safety, and for others in the workplace with reference to legislative requirements and work health and safety policies and procedures. Keep accurate records of brokerage expenditure, and provide monthly reports on client activity, referrals, and funding outcomes. Attend regular supervision and participate in professional development and training requirements. Accurate record keeping and timely lodgment of monthly reporting. Responsible for Administrative requirements of the role. Other duties assigned from time to time in line with the scope of the position.
