Do you have a desire to make a positive impact on the climate and biodiversity crises by working with an innovative global think tank? If so, we want to hear from you About InfluenceMap and the Opportunity InfluenceMap is a globally recognized non‑profit think tank driving change on climate and sustainability. We produce cutting‑edge, objective research on how businesses and finance impact the climate crisis, working collaboratively across corporate, finance, public, civil society, and media sectors. InfluenceMap is best known for its LobbyMap platform, which analyzes corporate advocacy and policy engagement activities related to climate change and biodiversity loss. Our work has been featured in the media globally, used by hundreds of investors, and informed numerous climate campaigns. Other workstreams include the FinanceMap platform, which assesses the climate credentials of the financial sector, and the CarbonMajors platform, which tracks emissions from the world's largest polluters. Subject to review, the role may lead to further opportunities at InfluenceMap for a successful candidate. Depending on the candidate, the responsibilities of the position will cover some or all of the following: Stakeholder Engagement Coordinate and support engagements with companies, investors, policymakers, and NGOs to advance climate and nature policy in Australia. Work alongside the Program Manager initially to learn relationship‑management approaches, then maintain these relationships independently. Project and Research Management Support a talented group of analysts in the timely delivery of briefings, projects, and other content to drive impact across Australia's climate policy engagement landscape. Help coordinate research priorities and ensure outputs meet InfluenceMap's rigorous quality standards. Communications Support Assist with communications activities to amplify InfluenceMap's work in Australia. Support event coordination and logistics for regional convenings and stakeholder meetings. Help develop content for Australian audiences, including briefings and presentations. Contribute to building awareness of InfluenceMap's platforms and research in the region. Australian policy knowledge – Understanding of Australian policymaking institutions and processes, particularly related to climate and sustainability. Technical proficiency – IT and software skills across a range of standard applications. Right to work in Australia. Highly Valued Experience in climate policy, corporate sustainability, or environmental advocacy in Australia. Understanding of how businesses and industry associations engage with climate and environmental policy. Project management or coordination experience. Communications or event management experience. About Working At InfluenceMap We are a driven, mission‑focused team seeking a Program Support Officer who shares our passion for climate action and corporate accountability. This role is ideal for someone with a research or policy background who is eager to gain hands‑on experience in impactful climate and sustainability work and can engage confidently with senior stakeholders. InfluenceMap's approach is data‑driven, emphasizing accuracy, consistency, and meticulous attention to detail. You will receive comprehensive training in our research methods and learn how to communicate results to key stakeholders. We're looking for someone who can apply analytical rigor, communicate complex ideas clearly, and contribute to innovative engagement strategies to maximize impact. We value collaborative team players who take initiative, work independently while staying connected to global teams, and are excited by the mission to accelerate climate action. This 6‑month role offers a unique opportunity to build valuable skills and experience while potentially opening doors to longer‑term opportunities at InfluenceMap. Benefits Employment type: Fixed‑term, 6‑month position (with possibility of further opportunities at InfluenceMap, subject to review). Location: Based in Australia, with flexible and remote working options. Start date: Late December or early January. Salary: $AUD 70,000 per annum base salary (commensurate with experience), excluding a discretionary bonus scheme. Benefits: All statutory health, insurance, and employment benefits.
