Join to apply for the Functional Business Analyst role at Randstad Australia . Overview Our client in the higher education sector is looking for a Strong Functional Business Analyst to join the team. You will be instrumental in supporting BAU activities and driving various technical initiatives across their core student administration systems, primarily TechnologyOne Student Management. This role requires a strong emphasis on technical analysis, business process optimisation, and the delivery of high-quality functional and technical specifications. Key Responsibilities Technical & Functional Analysis: Lead end-to-end technical/functional analysis for bugs, enhancements, integration's, and support tickets. Vendor Management: Analyse vendor release notes, assess system impacts, and translate them into actionable requirements. Documentation: Capture, document, and translate technical and business requirements into clear specifications (technical designs, functional designs, user journeys) for development and architecture teams. Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate workshops with Business Owners, SMEs, and technical teams, and manage communication across all stakeholders. Agile Delivery: Support Agile processes including sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, prioritisation, and provide testing support (UAT planning, test data preparation). Essential Skills & Experience Extensive experience as a Senior Functional or Technical Analyst in complex enterprise environments. Strong understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. Proven expertise in Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Process Re-engineering (BPR). High-level proficiency in SQL (querying, analysing, and validating data). Demonstrated experience with TechnologyOne Student Management and/or Oracle Cloud. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously with strong accountability. High-level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts. Desirable Experience Experience in the Higher Education sector is highly regarded.
