Overview Clinical Nurse Consultant - Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) – Permanent full-time position. Applications will be considered for all or part of the EFT. About the role An exciting opportunity has become available to join the IPAC team on a permanent full-time basis. The Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) service is responsible for collaborating with staff and patients to align with the Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care Preventing and Controlling Infections Standard. This is achieved through the Infection Prevention and Control program which includes monitoring and reporting infections, education and development of relevant guidelines and procedures. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) will employ their experience, skills and knowledge within this multidisciplinary team focused on promoting evidence-based practices in IPAC. The primary goals of the service are to: Minimise the risk of healthcare associated infection for staff, patients, and visitors Implement evidence-based practices that maximize patient and staff safety Provide recommendations for infection prevention at Eastern Health About you To be successful in this role you will possess: Current registration with AHPRA Post Graduate qualifications in relevant field (highly desirable) Current Driver's license Understanding Standard 3 Preventing and Controlling Infection requirements and relationship to the IPAC CNC role Demonstrated broad based knowledge and minimum 5 years acute nursing experience desirable Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
