Clinical Nurse Consultant Palliative Care The Royal Melbourne Hospital – Parkville VIC Clinical Nurse Consultant - Palliative Care The Royal Melbourne Hospital Permanent Full Time Position Lead a Multi-Site Palliative Care Consultation Service Collaborate Across Three Leading Health Services The Parkville Integrated Palliative Care Service is a precinct service providing care across The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and The Women's. The service is a leader in palliative care provision nationally with an international reputation for high quality care, research, quality and education. The service is amongst the biggest in Victoria, with 24 dedicated inpatient beds across two inpatient palliative care units, a busy consultation service working across three hospitals, twice daily outpatient clinics and an outreach service covering the inner, Northern and Western suburbs of Melbourne, in partnership with community palliative care. Within the nursing team, in addition to two fully staffed ward-based nursing teams, there are 7 specialist palliative care clinical nurse consultants, and a nurse practitioner in Palliative Care. The service is a key leader in Palliative Care Research with numerous clinical trials originating within our service, plus clinical quality and health services research. The service is involved with education to graduate nursing programs, nurses across the precinct hospitals and in University training programs. We actively support International collaboration with regular observerships occurring from Palliative Care clinicians from across the United States, the UK, Singapore, Japan, Thailand and South Korea.
