We are seeking a competent Coxswain 1/Master, 24 m for a Gold Coast/S.E. Qld based position in a Marine Civil Construction Company. We are looking for a team member who is happiest when working physically and thinking on their feet. Every day is different – from salvages one day to building revetment walls, demolishing jetties, rubbish and mangrove removal or assisting pool builders the next. It is usually a team of two (excavator operator and skipper) working together to complete projects. We work in the canals and rivers of SE Qld providing maintenance services. Projects can be as far away as Bribie Island (short‑term projects). Most work is Monday‑Friday with occasional weekend shift (salvages/transits/fireworks). We are looking to fill one of our skipper positions immediately. There is a requirement to use your mobile phone to complete daily compliance documentation – being comfortable with phone apps and willing to learn these procedures is essential. All our vehicles and vessels are smoke‑free. Qualifications Coxswain/Master, 24 m with at least 2 years experience. Construction White Card (issued after 2009). First Aid (current). Secure off‑street parking capacity for Ute and tender. Smartphone with adequate data and capable of using online apps. Physically fit and willing to get in and do what needs to be done. An excellent problem solver/trouble‑shooter. Australian TFN, fluent in English (written and spoken). Maintenance and servicing of vessel and tender are a part of the job – small business, no engineers. Advantage (not mandatory) Excavator/Skid Steer tickets HR/HC licence Experience with concreting, block laying and general building. Experience with chainsaws, quick‑cut saws, power tools. Position Details Full time (based on a 50 hour/week) Salary: $115,000‑$125,000 per annum Hours: 10‑12 h days (Summer) – project based work. Includes a Ute to tow tender; some weekend work required – not regularly. Position attracts holiday (20 days/year), superannuation, public holiday pay, sick pay (80 hours/year).
