Join to apply for the Support Services Coordinator role at Public Defence Service - New Zealand Te Haeata / The Opportunity The Office of the Chief Justice seeks a highly organised, proactive and efficient Support Services and Events Coordinator to support our Communications and Engagement Team. Job Description Role: Support Services Coordinator – 12‑month fixed‑term, full‑time The Support Services and Events Coordinator will provide essential administrative and logistical support to the Judicial Events Manager and the wider Judicial Communications and Engagement Team. This role is integral to the successful planning and delivery of ceremonial and judicial events, as well as the efficient operation of core team functions. Key Responsibilities Coordinate logistics for judicial events (conferences, ceremonies, dinners, invitations). Manage travel, accommodation, and venue arrangements. Liaise with a wide range of people and institutions, including government offices and overseas judiciary. Prepare and distribute event materials, and update calendars. Attend events (occasionally overnight) to provide on‑site support. Provide administrative assistance to the Communications and Engagement Team. Maintain records, files and process documents. Support the distribution of media statements. Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures. Skills and Experience No candidate will meet every single desired qualification. Professional, friendly demeanour with excellent organisation and multitasking skills. Intermediate/advanced skills in MS Office, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work proactively, autonomously, and maintain confidentiality. Meticulous attention to detail and timelines. Resilience, professionalism, and a can‑do attitude. The ability to identify opportunities, solve problems proactively and take initiative to deliver results. Salary The appointing salary for this role is between $66,066 and $90,008, with the likely appointing salary between $66,066 and $84,567 based on skills and experience.
