Lead Product Designer

Lead Product Designer – Domain Domain, a leading property technology and services marketplace that is home to one of the largest portfolios of property brands in Australia, has become part of CoStar Group. We are looking for a design lead to join our new Audience division. This role will work closely with product and engineering teams to develop new opportunities and optimise existing ones, connecting users who are looking to buy or sell homes with relevant agents and agencies. Role Purpose The product Design Lead role is a focused Design Specialist. The role exists for a design expert, working autonomously to lead and innovate within large, complex projects. The primary responsibility of a design lead will be to spearhead design initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of creativity, usability, and brand coherence across all aspects of our product. The role serves as a brand guardian, actively participating in shaping and evolving our brand identity within the product landscape. A Design Lead is also focused on growth and mentorship of team members and the broader design community with active engagement with design across. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency in our design processes. What Success Looks Like Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and SEO to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch. Contribute to strategic decisions and help shape priorities and scope during planning. Design and prototype solutions that meet customer needs and achieve business outcomes. Conduct research to build empathy and understanding of customers and evaluate solutions during the delivery phase of projects. Work collaboratively within a cross‑functional scrum team to ship high‑quality product at high velocity, balancing trade‑offs and constraints along the way. Lead or facilitate workshops to foster collaboration and alignment. Key Relationships Product Design Manager – Direct people manager responsible for providing resources and career development. Head of Design – Indirect people manager, sets vision and direction for the team. Product Design Leads – Helps build team culture and provides a design culture environment. Product Designers and Senior Product Designers – Team members reporting to the Design Lead. Senior, Principal and Head of Products – Product managers who set direction and prioritise work for product teams. Tech Leads – Ensure designs can be implemented and work with tech leads to align product/tech delivery goals. Education Bachelor's degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, or a related field. Technical Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a related role. Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar. Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects with a focus on user‑centred design principles and processes. Experience in conducting user research and usability testing. Demonstrated ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs. Experience working in agile development environments and collaborating with cross‑functional teams. Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices (e.g., WCAG). Experience with design systems and contributing to the development and maintenance of a design system. Experience working on B2C products. Comfortable with experimentation and a track record of using data to inform design decisions.
