AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain‑specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. Become an AWS Specialist SA The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small‑ and mid‑market accounts to enterprise‑level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer’s most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go‑to‑market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi‑billion‑dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. Key job responsibilities Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap. Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers’ largest and most critical business challenges. Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public‑speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, etc. Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives. Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures. A day in the life A typical day might include meeting with technical product managers at AWS or with partners, collaborating with others to build and test demonstrations and proofs of concept, and writing technical content such as blog posts and papers. It might also include reading technical news bulletins to stay abreast of changes in technology that affect your partners and getting hands‑on with AWS every day. Specialists own the end‑to‑end go‑to‑market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges. The WWSO APJ CXE Specialist Solution Architecture team is a diverse group of architects located throughout Asia, Pacific and Japan. The team develops Contact Centre architectures and solutions using Amazon Connect for our customers. Specialist SAs play a critical role in capturing customer feedback, advocating for roadmap enhancements, and anticipating customer requirements as they work backwards from their needs. As domain experts, SSAs also participate in field engagement and enablement, producing content such as whitepapers, blogs, and workshops for customers, partners, and the AWS Technical Field. Basic Qualifications 7+ years of design/implementation/operations/consulting with distributed applications experience 5+ years of management of technical, enterprise customer facing resources or equivalent experience 4+ years of contact center experience, or experience in web technologies and the internet Preferred Qualifications Experience in software development, or experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service and experience with programming/scripting (Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby and/or PHP) Experience identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large‑scale technology projects for global customers Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud Experience in enterprise software Experience working with and presenting to C‑level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations or equivalent Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication Knowledge of project management tools and software Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries AWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification, or Bachelor's degree 4+ years of relevant technical position experience, or Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Acknowledgement Of Country In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
