Learning Specialist Personal Social Capability

Applicants are requested to present a written response to the key selection criteria below.
SC1 Demonstrated expert knowledge of literacy across the curriculum. Demonstrated ability to model exemplary teaching practice, especially the teaching of personal and social capability across the curriculum and implement school priorities.
SC2 Demonstrated expertise in the implementation and modelling of high impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs. Demonstrated ability to support teachers to evaluate the impact of their personal and social capability learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
SC3 Demonstrated exemplary ability to model the monitoring and assessment of student learning. Demonstrated ability to support others in using data to inform teaching practice and to provide feedback on student learning growth and achievement in personal and social capability to students and parents.
SC4 Demonstrated exemplary interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to engage in collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents, carers, and the broader school community to support student personal and social capability learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement.
SC5 Demonstrated ability to model behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values. Demonstrated ability to support others to reflect on their practice and facilitate school-based professional learning.
SC6 Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and pedagogy of Big Picture Learning.
RoleThe core role of the Learning Specialist ¿ Personal and Social Capability is to lead improvement across the school to prepare students for learning. The Learning Specialist - PSC will establish consistent teaching practices to support the growth of all students.
The Personal and Social Capability is essential in enabling students to understand themselves and others, and manage their relationships, lives, work and learning more effectively. The capability involves students learning to recognise and regulate emotions, develop empathy for others and understand relationships, establish, and build a framework for positive relationships, work effectively in teams and develop leadership skills, and handle challenging situations constructively.
The Personal and Social Capability supports students in becoming creative and confident individuals with a sense of self-worth, self-awareness and personal identity that enables them to manage their emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical wellbeing, with a sense of hope and optimism about their lives and the future. On a social level, it helps students to form and maintain healthy relationships and prepares them for their potential life roles as family, community, and workforce members.
The Personal and Social Capability encompasses students' personal/emotional and social/relational dispositions, intelligences, and sensibilities.
