The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels, and within more than...Investigate, establish and monitor Agency contracts and pursue opportunities to establish new or more effective contract arrangements.Support the Strategic Manager in the development and management of the Unit’s procurement activities.Duties:Support the management of complex procurement processes for the Agency including service planning initiatives and innovative contract reforms as part of national and state initiatives, in liaison with sub-divisional management, other Agency staff and external stakeholders.Implement appropriate strategies to support the provision of effective procurement services, with particular regard to value for money outcomes and emerging trends in procurement.Lead the development of policy initiatives, procurement procedures and guidance material.Provide high level advice to Agency managers and staff on procurement and contract processes/issues, including specialist advice to tender evaluation and selection committees, and support/participate in committees when required.Participate in benchmarking activities aimed at measuring the competitiveness of procurement activities.Provide support, advice and, where required, training to staff on procurement related matters.Research and identify opportunities for more efficient and effective supply arrangements and provide advice and assistance in the development and implementation of necessary changes to procurement practices.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.The Team/site:Work as a member of a dynamic and innovative teamFocus on ongoing professional and career developmentFree on-site parkingDetails of AppointmentFixed term full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing from 3 June 2024 until 2 June 2025*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicantApplicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.Salary:

$104,756 to $118,730 per annum.
