Job Description - Mechanical Fitter - Shoalhaven ) Mechanical Fitter - Shoalhaven - As a key player in the Defence industry, UGL plays a crucial role in supporting the Australian Defence Force across 100 locations nationwide. From operations and maintenance to asset management and fuel supply services, our team's expertise ensures we deliver effectively and sustainably. As a result of expanding scope of works within UGL’s portfolio, we are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our Operations & Maintenance team at HMAS Albatross in the Shoalhaven Region of NSW. This would be an exciting and unique opportunity to work in the Australia Defence environment to support the national security requirements of the Nation.Benefit from the opportunity to work with a Tier 1 services provider in a long-term, operations and maintenance contract. The Role Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at HMAS Albatross, supporting the NSW Shoalhaven region. There will also be occasional regional travel across NSW. You will be a part of a core crew of UGL technicians. These duties will include, but not limited to; Perform scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment Diagnostics and repair in a breakdown environment of fuel related assets and equipment Project work as required on the fuel installation and related assets and equipment Support subcontracted work packages as required Support various sites in the region with occasional requirement to travel to various sites throughout NSW Rates as of 1st July 2025 for Maintenance Trades (Mechanical) Level 1 - $47.07 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly) Level 2 - $50.67 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly) Level 3 (Dual Trade) - $54.28 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly) What you Need You will be a strong team player, a self-starter and dedicated employee that will draw on your experience and diverse skills to deliver high quality outcomes for UGL and our customer. We expect the successful applicants to have the following Trade qualified (mechanical) with relevant post-trade experience Proven experience working in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas. Experience working within the defence fuels network or defence industry will be highly regarded Confined space and working at heights tickets will be highly regarded Safety is at the forefront of everything you do Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance What we Offer This is an opportunity to join UGL as a full-time employee, on a long-term contract within the Defence sector.
