Caseworker (Identified) – Family Preservation

Summary The Caseworker Family Preservation is responsible for providing culturally appropriate and intensive casework services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 0‑18 and their families. This position plays a crucial role in preventing family breakdown and ensuring that children remain within their families with the aim to prevent entering Out of Home Care. The Caseworker will work closely with families to develop tailored action plans and collaborate with various stakeholders to provide comprehensive support. Responsibilities Provide intensive high‑quality culturally appropriate casework to deliver services to children and families through regular home visits. Engage with families to create and implement tailored family action plans aimed at preventing family breakdown. Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reporting in accordance with organisational policies and procedures. Collaborate with other service providers and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for families. Utilise Microsoft Office programs for report writing and presentations. Qualifications Aboriginality is a genuine qualification under the Anti‑Discrimination Act. Qualifications in Community Services or a relevant field. Experience in case management within the child protection sector, ideally in early intervention. High level of oral and written communication skills including demonstrated report writing and presentation skills. Knowledge of child protection issues and the ability to identify when statutory intervention is required. Varied professional and general life experience. Evidence of at least two COVID‑19 vaccinations. Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check for employment purposes. Current NSW drivers licence and access to a registered and insured passenger vehicle.
