We need a Scientific / Technical Officer to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Health. The role requires discipline‑specific knowledge, preferably with Microbiology and/or Molecular Biology experience, to provide high‑quality technical support to academics and students within Biomedical Sciences. Responsibilities The team provides specialist technical expertise to support teaching and research across all schools within the Faculty. Responsibilities include: Operation, maintenance and repair of teaching and research facilities and specialist equipment. Planning and execution of equipment troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. Production of technical reports, communications and documentation. Collaboration with academics, students and external partners to meet scientific and technical needs. Qualifications Educational requirement: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an Associate Diploma with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and teamwork. Ability to embrace change, prioritise work, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities with quality and compliance in a technical environment. Strong problem‑solving skills and continuous improvement mindset. Understanding of theoretical aspects of Microbiology or a related field and experience in practical application of relevant scientific/technical techniques. Ability to accurately review and interpret instructions, relate knowledge to maintenance and repairs of equipment, and produce high‑standard technical reports and documentation.
