The opportunity We are seeking a Finance Coordinator to join CSIRO’s Finance team. The role provides critical financial insights to CSIRO’s Executive, Leadership Team and Board, supporting strategic decision‑making through high‑quality reporting, forecasting and modelling. Your high‑level duties will include: Delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting and modelling aligned with CSIRO’s strategic goals. Preparing and reviewing internal financial reports for the Executive Team and Board, including insightful performance commentary. Supporting the development and implementation of improved financial processes and systems. Collaborating across Finance and Research Units to consolidate forecasts, identify risks and contribute to organisational initiatives. Role particulars Location: Any CSIRO location in Australia – Hybrid/flexible working options available. Salary: AU$118k – AU$127k per annum (pro rata for part‑time), plus 15.4% superannuation. Tenure: Indefinite, Full‑time. Reference: . As the successful candidate, you will bring: A tertiary qualification in accounting or finance and completion of the CA/CPA Program, or equivalent work experience. Knowledge and experience of Microsoft and SAP systems and processes for developing and driving financial strategy and executive reporting. Demonstrated ability to prepare insightful commentary that identifies issues and recommendations with respect to financial strategy. Demonstrated ability to ensure and oversee data integrity and compliance, proactively identify problems and execute appropriate responses to resolve issues. Demonstrated technical knowledge and/or experience in management accounting, reporting, forecasting, budgeting in the government sector. Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate financial management advice with proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, affecting outcomes and communicating findings. Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and agility in delivering high‑quality outputs with flexibility under minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direction for others in the team by coaching and supporting staff and fostering open communication and strong collaboration.
