Functional, Reconstructive and Neuro-Urology Consultant Surgeon This is a substantive, specialist Functional, Reconstructive and Neuro-Urology Consultant Surgeon full time role. It is an exciting opportunity to work in a progressive and friendly department with a focus on enhancing our Functional, Reconstructive and Neuro-Urology services. We are looking for a consultant who can deliver specialist care in outpatient clinic by performing procedures such as LA flexi botox and videourodynamics, and in theatre. The successful candidate will attend the Neuro‑urology and Pelvic Floor MDT, help develop our pathways and work closely with and support the development of our specialist nursing team. Salisbury Urology department has 7 consultant urologists, 5 middle grade doctors, 3 foundation year doctors, 9 specialist urology nurses and 3 HCAs. Our own outpatient department performs diagnostics such as cystoscopy, ultrasound and urodynamics, as well as procedures such as precision point biopsy, TULA and flexi botox. Interviews will take place on the 19th December. Main duties of the job The post is full time with a 10‑PA job plan. The successful candidate will contribute to a 1 in 7 on‑call rota and be responsible for delivery of outpatient clinics, outpatient procedures, and emergency and elective theatre work. The 10‑PA weekly job plan would, on average, include 8.5 PAs of Direct Clinical Care (including on‑call duties and DCC admin) and 1.5 PAs supporting Professional Activities. Job responsibilities To provide specialist care in outpatient and theatre settings, manage multidisciplinary teams, develop pathways and support nursing staff, deliver clinical governance and contribute to service development. Person Specification Qualifications and Specialist Training Must be on the urology specialist register. Full GMC registration with licence to practice. Experience / Clinical Skills Experience in female and functional urology and urodynamics. Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement. Experience in managing risk, prioritising clinical need and applying evidence‑based practice. Management Experience Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, motivate and develop staff. Willingness to work within Trust and NHS performance targets and balance individual needs with departmental priorities. Commitment to active clinical governance and learning from errors. Ability to contribute to the development of the service Capacity to manage and prioritise time and information effectively. Clear written and spoken communication. Patient‑centred approach to treatment discussions and empathetic communication.> Teaching Demonstrated interest and commitment to teaching clinical skills to trainees and others.
