Ranger in Charge (Infrastructure) & (NRM) Join to apply for the Ranger in Charge (Infrastructure) & (NRM) role at Queensland Government. As the Ranger in Charge, you will lead a dedicated team to deliver high-quality park management outcomes across the Far North Management Unit. Your role oversees planning, infrastructure, and natural resource management activities that protect the Great Barrier Reef’s unique environments. You’ll manage projects, guide staff, and collaborate with Traditional Owners, partners, and the community to ensure sustainable operations, effective conservation, and enhanced visitor experiences within one of the world’s most iconic natural landscapes. Great Barrier Reef and Marine Parks (GBR&MP) Region is excited to share an opportunity for two OO6 Ranger in Charge positions on a Temporary basis. There are two OO6 Ranger in Charge positions within the Far North Management Unit (FNMU) of the GBR&MP Region. Role Focus Plan and deliver programs and projects: oversee development and implementation of annual work programs and complex park management projects, including infrastructure maintenance, resource management, and environmental initiatives. Lead teams and operations: manage staff, coordinate resources, and ensure effective delivery of work plans, compliance activities, and emergency response operations. Engage stakeholders and communities: build strong relationships with landholders, government bodies, industry groups, Traditional Owners, and the public through consultation, education, and customer engagement. Ensure governance and cultural responsibility: oversee administrative, financial, and reporting processes while fostering an inclusive workplace that supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultural outcomes. Qualifications Automatic/unrestricted manual driver’s licence.
