Senior RPA Pega Robotics/Openspan Specialist

Position Summary As a Pega robotics/OpenSpan Specialist/Senior Developer you will have in depth experience in both consulting and development skillsets. You will possess advanced Pega Robotics development and deployment skills and be able to work closely with business stakeholders through completing consulting‑led RPA process assessments, as well as developing intelligent process automations using Pega Robotics and employing agile delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience on versions 19 and 22, including migration from v19 to v22, experience on the Pega Robot Manager, and knowledge of .NET as an advantage. This is a permanent role that requires a blend of client‑facing consulting skills and technical delivery expertise. The role sits within Cognizant’s RPA Practice. Mandatory Skills Practical experience using Pega Robotics/OpenSpan RPA at an advanced level. Exposure to versions 19 and 22 of Pega Robotics and use of the Pega v19→v22 migration tools. Experience in banking and insurance preferred. Maintain functionality throughout the migration and develop necessary replacement components, such as updates to custom code when version changes require it. Ability to quantify migration risks and provide solutions. Understand processes, simplify where possible, break down into sub‑processes, and identify redundancy. Determine ROI of processes and create business pipeline; work with the business to identify best cases for automation. Document business process flow charts following standard practices. Capable of leading and communicating requirements to both onshore and offshore teams. Contribute to testing documentation and coverage of RPA processes. Support and maintenance activities. Daily stand‑ups, retrospectives, and agile methodologies (Scrum). Manage process delivery: scope, timeline, and budget to meet deadlines. Architect, present, and explain RPA solutions to stakeholder groups. Quickly understand customers’ business processes and architect solutions leveraging RPA tools. Stay updated on the latest versions of Pega Robotics/OpenSpan and new functionality. Work within project schedule constraints, communicate risks and issues, assist with replanning when necessary. Knowledge of RPA and AI APIs. Strong experience using .NET Framework and SQL scripting. Manage development team members working on support and maintenance activities. Expert in agile methodologies (Scrum, TDD) and collaborate with Business Analysts and functional experts. Maintain strict control over scope and schedule of projects. Self‑directed initiative‐taker who sets challenging targets to meet client demands. Excellent communication skills in a consulting business environment. Enthusiastic and proactive attitude for implementing and developing new operations. Duties and Responsibilities Work on the Pega Robotics version 19 to 25 migration. Mentor team members in v22 of Pega Robotics. Lead architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of Pega Robotics/OpenSpan RPA solutions; oversee teams, mentor new members, and promote best practices. Engage with client stakeholders to thoroughly understand existing processes, streamline where feasible, or decompose into sub‑processes as needed, while proactively identifying redundancies. Document business processes with Process Definition Documents (PDD) and Standard Operating Procedures. Develop as a developer while managing both onshore and offshore teams. Contribute to solution documentation to support transition and maintenance, provide effort estimation, delivery planning, and software quality assurance. Create handover documentation. Deliver on assigned responsibilities while adhering to coding standards, policies, and procedures. Create, maintain, and manage technical quality assurance processes and guidelines. Support and maintenance activities. Use agile methodologies (Scrum, TDD) and work closely with Business Analysts and functional experts. Work within project schedule constraints, communicating identified risks and issues. Schedule and conduct quality audit inspections; analyze and review systems, data, and documentation. Identify variations and potential high‑risk areas to ensure adherence to standards and procedures. Recommend corrective action plans and improvements for non‑compliance detected through monitoring and auditing. Communicate, educate, and consult with users and management to ensure awareness and adherence to standards, procedures, and quality control activities. Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, testing, and resolving RPA problems and issues.
