AWCON is seeking a driven and experienced Pre-Contracts Manager to lead the tendering and pre-contracts function for major civil and mining projects across Australia. Reporting to the COO, you will manage the full tender lifecycle, drive submission strategy, and ensure high-quality, competitive responses that align with AWCON’s capabilities and growth goals. ABOUT THE ROLE You will take ownership of tender submissions, EOIs, capability statements, and major proposal developments, ensuring all submissions are compliant, compelling, and aligned with AWCON’s strategic objectives. While this is a leadership role, you will also remain hands‑on in content development, strategy formation, and delivery of high‑priority bids where required. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead end-to-end tender management, from opportunity identification to final submission. Develop and coordinate bid strategies with estimating, delivery, commercial, and business development teams. Ensure submissions are compliant, competitive, and submitted on time. Oversee and mentor bid contributors, building internal capability and consistency. Improve templates, tools, processes, and content libraries. Stay hands‑on for high‑priority bids or peak workload periods. ABOUT YOU Strong experience leading tenders within construction, mining, infrastructure, or engineering. Proven success securing major projects (experience with submissions $50M+ highly regarded). Excellent writing, coordination, and communication skills.
