Kickstart your deadly career with Maxima and Qantas through a School-Based Traineeship, where you’ll combine paid employment with completion of your secondary school studies. A School-Based Traineeship is a paid opportunity that allows students to gain firsthand industry experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification that contributes to their High School Certificate. You’ll attend school while working part time to complete your Traineeship. Complete a free, nationally recognised Certificate II OR Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations Work one day a week onsite at Qantas Earn while you learn over two years with no study debt Contribute towards your High School Certificate Receive mentoring and support from a specialised and experienced Maxima Consultant The Role: As a School-Based Trainee , you will work onsite at Qantas one day a week, supporting ground crew freight operations, while attending school on the remaining days. These opportunities are due to commence early January 2026. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include: Safe and secure physical handling of freight and mail, including build-up and check in of freight within service standards Learn special handling requirements including livestock and perishables Apply proper warehouse lifting techniques Develop your knowledge of the aviation industry About You: Positive and proactive Willing to learn and take initiative Able to build rapport with a variety of people Great written and verbal communication skills Punctual, reliable and have a strong work ethic Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Office Role Requirements: Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Commencing Year 11 in 2026 Identification requirements for an ASIC Check Medical clearance About Maxima: Maxima’s First Nations Employment Team provides culturally safe and relationship-based practices to build your capacity in being deadly and successful.
